Resumen:
Solar energy, among renewable sources, has been growing in Brazil, proving to be an alternative that can reduce the impacts caused by the use of fossil fuels. In the Northeast region, and especially in the State of Paraíba, the potential for generating photovoltaic solar energy has resulted in a significant energy consumer market for the region. Thus, the objective of this article was to analyze the profile of the photovoltaic solar energy consumer market in the Municipality of Sousa, PB. To achieve this goal, the methodological procedures were based on the application of a questionnaire to identify factors that influenced consumers to install and use photovoltaic solar energy. It was concluded that the consumer market for this type of energy is characterized as residential
and commercial and is influenced by social and psychological factors, reference groups
and the perception that their peers can generate when using photovoltaic solar energy.
