Resumo:
In this research, we analyze how the Descriptive Statistics content has been taught in
elementary school. In order to do so, we analyze a Math textbook, focusing on the chapter
about Statistics. The book was used by the school in which the project was developed. In
this analysis, we praise the qualities shown and detect the situations we consider inadequate. Besides that, we propose a constructive methodology to teach Statistics together with the problem solving. We show the experiences and the challenges found, as suggestions to improve future application of the methodology shown here. We made a descriptive analyze of data in order to determine which situations we had a better performance, through a comparison of the suggested methodology, developing the content through the textbook orientation.
