Resumen:
In this work, an analysis of the chapters concerning the content of Financial Mathematics will be done in three high school textbooks: two of them, dated 2010 and 2014, adopted
in public schools in Campina Grande (PB), and the third, published in 1995, so that it is also possible to have an idea of the approach of this content throughout this period. As reference for the analysis of the books, the official guidelines of the Federal Constitution of Brazil were used, and especially the laws and guidelines of basic education, which guide the goals and objectives to be achieved by the country’s education system. Thus, under a critical look around the books analyzed by the parameters listed, considerations were made, highlighting the positive points of each book and simultaneously proposing changes when necessary.
