Résumé:
This study has as its main theme sanitation and its repercussions for health, amidst a
needy population that lacks basic services. Inadequate sanitation directly affects the lives
of people who live in unhealthy environments. The incidence of diseases in the
environment without basic sanitation is greater than people living in clean environments,
lack of garbage collection, sewage and water for the entire population will result in
environmental problems that directly affect the lives of the existing population. In areas
of low-income population as is the case of this study, where the great majority of people
live from the benefits of the federal government with precarious access to water, there is
little alternative to the use of water which are artesian wells, claypits and public cisterns
that are supplied by the army, because there are few homes that have private cisterns.
Thus, this research aims to analyze and compare the situation of the sanitation and the
way of life in two microareas, 04 and 20 served by the Family Health Strategy (ESF) in
the municipality of Gado Bravo – PB. For the execution of the research we used data
from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and the Information
System of Primary Care (SIAB), to better understand the situation of the basic sanitation.
