Resumo:
This scientific paper deals with the use of film as a pedagogical tool for teaching
geography, with the object of study Primary Education State School Our Lady of the Rosary
in Campina Grande-PB. The research aimed to diagnose the reality of insertion of the film
in geography classes at school and then discuss ways to improve the inclusion this visual
aid in class discipline. The use of films in the classroom, it is a relatively common practice
in schools, however, perhaps the greatest difficulty lies in the choice of these films and the
way of using them in the classroom. It is starting from this perspective that justifies the
relevance of this study. The adopted methodological procedures were summarized as
follows: a) bibliographic study; b) Contact with the school and geography teachers of the
same; c) Survey, using questionnaires, with teachers and students; d) Review and
systematization of data collected in the survey; e) Study and analysis of case. In general, we
see that the films are educational tools widespread in the Rosary school, considering that,
geography teachers said consider important to use the same and using the resource
whenever possible in their classes and appropriately. As students, we observe that the
majority of respondents stated enjoy watching movies and who can pay more attention in
class and consequently learn more when the teacher uses the visual aid in Geography
lessons.
