Resumo:
In contemporaneity we are experiencing a period of rapid changes in the urban and social space. While this is
modernized, it brings other problems. This reconfiguration of commercial spaces feeds the existing capitalist
mode of production, and encourages consumption while modifying the povertyand relations. Thus, the urban
“development” processes grow more every day as the city of Campina Grande-PB. The objective of this research
is to analyze the povertyand dynamics of services represented from small businesses installed in a
commercial street located in Bodocongó district. This is the Floripede Coutinho street and its relation to the
production of urban space of the mentioned district. This research was exploratory through collection of
materials and interviews with traders who answered a questionnaire. Such a tool is of fundamental importance
for understanding the evolution of trades and assist in the responses of survey questions along with the preestablished
objectives: 1) to investigate the processes of formation space partner Bodocongó neighborhood, 2)
identify ways and commercial typologies and existing services in Floripedes Coutinho Street 3) to evaluate the
socio-economic role and its relationship with the production of local urban space. It was found that these
activities influence local urban development influencing therefore the spatial organization from the dynamic
consumption.
