Resumen:
This work aims to analyse the process of construction of the geographic knowledge from
the study methodology of the environment used with students of Municipal School
Tertuliano Maciel. Thus, we verified the way the students observe the spatial configuration
of the community of Ligeiro as well as the influence of the city of Campina Grande on this
urban-rural fringe. The studied area covers an intermunicipal zone between Campina
Grande and Queimadas, in the State of Paraíba. The methodological procedures adopted
during the construction of this monograph followed fundamental stages, namely:
bibliographical research, characterization of the area, planning field script, preparation of
the group for the realization of the environmental study, recording photos and videos, field
return activity and empyrical analysis of the results achieved. It starts with the pedagogical
conception that considers the students as active subjects in the preparation of the
systematized knowledge. Such fact happens before a planned action mediated by the
teacher for the student reaches the level of internalization of the concepts. One of the
intended stages with the study of the environment is that the students think their space,
confronting the scientific concepts (geographical, others) and everyday concepts, those
acquired by the sociospatial practice. Therefore, it was referred a study of the environment
of the district of Ligeiro, from the conceptual analysis of urban, rural, urban fringe among
others. As well, it was made a representation of these territories, analysing the socio-spatial
interrelationships.
