Résumé:
The context in which it operates education in Brazil, Basic education in Brazilian public schools
is a very complex issue on which binds many ways intertwined by a common factor, teaching
and learning. These paths that can be influenced by events and processes of various scales in
which many times the priority is not education thus can lead to a precarious public education.
Therefore, the this paper aims, conduct an analysis of PNLD program, in school Raul Cordula,
trying to understand the process of choosing the textbook and that the effectiveness of it in
geography teaching at the institution. To reach our purpose, we performed a physical and
pedagogical diagnosis, in order to understand in which scenario is established book at school
search field, it said, the data collection was made through semi-structured questionnaires on the
topic and applied to the board and Geography teachers, because we believe that are the strongest
sources from which we can consult on the subject in this institution. With the school's analysis,
we realize that it has good conditions with respect to physical space, educational materials, and
other resources available through government programs, the textbook is the main resource in the
classroom, in this context, the choice of book at the same although it is well thought out by
teachers, it is somewhat misleading, because the teachers do not analyze all the works offered
by PNLD.
