Resumen:
In a highly globalized world, organizations need to adapt to the current moment and look for
ways to optimize their processes, increasing productivity and reducing waste. Thus, in a public
organization it is no different, the demand is becoming more and more demanding, and the
products/services provided must be offered with quality and speed. The Lean Manufacturing
philosophy emerged right after World War II and has been necessary for its implementation in
any organization so that it has an improvement in quality and adds value to the customer.
Knowing this, it is essential to mention the use of the PDCA cycle to obtain improvements in
the process itself. The focus of the work is to propose improvements in the entire process of
creating projects. Thus, the procedure used in this work was the planning phase of the PDCA
with the purpose of identifying problems and subsequently presenting proposals for
improvement. The study itself was developed from on-site observations and meetings with
employees of a public organization that works in the management of projects involving science,
technology and innovation. The organization acts from the planning, through the progress, until
the end of the project. To present these proposals, some tools were used, such as: brainstorming,
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and kanban. To assist in the study, an action plan was
drawn up with the help of the 5W1H tool.
