Resumo:
Violence in traffic is becoming a major challenge for the planning of urban spaces. The
present monograph appears as an offshoot of the results obtained during the Scientific
Initiation where the Avenue Floriano Peixoto stood out, in relation to the others, in terms
of accidents. The facilities in the purchase of vehicles, especially motorcycles, used often
in irregular transport, plus the absence of a stricter policy on the evaluation of the driver's
condition and the lack of knowledge about the risk areas, the occurrence of accidents in the
city presents itself as contributing to the significant increase in cases of fatal traffic
violence in major brazilian cities, especially midsize. Based on these problems, we have
identified some risk landscapes to the occurrence of violent events in traffic due to
accidents with motor transport in the Avenue Floriano Peixoto in Campina Grande - PB.
The research is guided in the survey references, statistical and documentary, and analysis
of landscapes. It considers that such social problem brings great expense to the state and
also huge consequences to the public health, and that professionals have very severe
conclusions on the increasing number of instances of that type.
