Resumo:
The politics of land concentration in Brazil is something historical, it is part of the
socio-territorial reality of the country since the occupation process, therefore being an
expression of the wrong and correct policies implemented over the years. This context
made fight for land movements be born, beginning with the Ligas Camponesas, and
today there are several movements that fight for this issue. One example is the
Comissão Pastoral da Terra (CPT), but among the movements that fight for these causes
the largest is the Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem Terra (MST). From the experience
in a settlement area that generated knowledge about the MST, the desire to know the
ways of the movement was awaken. Thus, this research proposes to understand the
strategies and tactics used by the movement while fighting for lands. Therefore, in order
to reach the objectives proposed by the fundamentals of the qualitative method, using as
main technical resource the interview and discourse analysis, and based on the results
obtained, it was perceived that the struggle of the movement is marked by victories and
defeats that go from land conquests to lack of state support.
