Indicadores e índices sintéticos: análise do IDH e do IBEU em Serra Branca - PB.

Abstract

Currently, one of the tools used for the development of public policies in the Brazilian municipalities, is the analysis of indicators and indexes of different themes. In General, the indexes bring a sampling on the reality of the municipality in various areas and themes (education, health, income, urbanization, life quality, risk, etc.). The enhancement of systems of indicators and indexes occurs from 1990 with the emergenceof the human development index (IDH)), however your story begins in the early 20th century. In Brazil, there are a variety of indices, they serve as instruments for the development of public policies that will be linked to the development of the territory. One of the indexes that more develops public policies in Brazil is the HDI, which is based on three dimensions education, income and longevity, another recent index is the index of urban welfare studies the quality of urban services and quality of Brazil's cities in five dimensions. The present study aims to analyze the overall human development index and index of Urban welfare in the municipality of Serra Branca. With the analysis of these indices we will note the current situation of the municipality, and can compare with other cities of this-do, and see which public policies have been or are under development in the municipality. The analysis was used as bibliographic reading methodology and data analysis of pnud and the Centre of major cities as a result Note-If Serra Branca with IDHM and IBEU medium, with a significant advance on the dimensions of IDHM, mainly in education, at the IBEU note that the biggest challenge is in the dimension of urban infrastructure.
