Resumo:
The present work corresponds to a research carried out at. In order to understand the
processes of community formation that led to and maintained its segregation in relation to the
neighborhood where it is located. We also sought to discuss how segregation interferes with the lives of
residents of the Village of Stubborns, especially those of students. For this purpose we have made a
bibliographical survey about the geographical concepts that can explain the case of this community. We
also went to the field to conduct interviews with residents of the neighborhood and students, where we
could see that the community suffers from the shortage of basic rights, from its formation to the present
day. Public and private agencies strongly threaten the permanence of the community in the area, treating
the land as a commodity, residents of the areas surrounding the community also press for it to be
withdrawn, blaming it for the violence of the neighborhood. These facts hit the younger, making them
discredit the power of education, in an interview 69% of them reported that they do not strive to do well
in school. At least nine of the young people interviewed believe in using the police force as a solution to
violence, another three do not feel they belong to the community and dream of moving to another
location. School-based school projects, as well as ideas that draw their families to school, can instruct
these people on how to deal with external pressures and fight for land.
