Resumo:
The health-disease-environment relationship has been studied since antiquity. Hippocrates
was the first to make this relationship. The geography of health has as its guiding axis issues
related to human health and its relation with the environment that is inserted. In Brazil the
Hygeia Magazine is the main artifice used for publications related to Medical Geography and
Health Care. This research had as general objective to analyze the content of scientific
production published in the Journal Hygeia from its creation in the year 2005 until 2017. For
the accomplishment of the same one was chosen by the following procedures of information
collection: a) survey of references and; b) documentary survey. As analysis procedures were
performed a brief literature review document and content analysis. The findings highlight an
unequal technical-scientific-informational development due to the privileges that certain
regions receive to the detriment of others. The difference of investments to research centers
end up being reflected in the scientific production and consequently in the number of
publications.
