Resumo:
The process of social segregation is characterized by produce inequality and ensure even
more the violence and the criminality in peripheral communities, being the people from
this area exposed to thesse social problems. In contrast, we visualize the absence of State
in the realization of police that search to eliminate or minimize these problems. Therefore,
this research have the purpose of identifying the social practices existing in ZEIS Pedregal
and your influences in the formation of the urban identity of the community. As
methodological procedures we realized interviews with people involved in these social
practice and, posteriorly of that, we did an analysis of the discourse of the people who was
interviewed, searching to identify the influences that their activities would have in the
formation of the urban identity from the participants. As results obtained, we indetify that
exist an absence by the City Hall of Campina Grande – PB in the assistance or offer of this
type of activities for the community and activiteis existent in the community promote the
integration and social inclusion of children and young people, thus diverting from the
criminality and the prostitution.
