Resumo:
Tourism presents itself as an activity that arouses interest in modern contemporary society, being directly connected with economic, historical and cultural elements that, in turn, seek to present characteristics and identities of the place. Soon, tourism has been growing around the world making it a potential for local development and economic growth. In this sense, the work presented here has the hypothesis to show that tourism can be used as a strategy for the development of Remígio. Therefore, we used qualitative research techniques, being used, going to the field, bibliographic research, interviews and discourse analysis. The results obtained confirmed the hypothesis of research in what corresponds to the finding that Remígio has the potential to promote urban development from tourism, despite being lacking in more efficient policies.
