Abstract:
Space says about society, since there is no space without an individual, or an individual
without space. Therefore, the school space is also an instance of society that differentiates
and normalizes the subjects that compose it through the various agents that work in it:
teachers, managers, employees, etc. The curriculum is also used to maintain or modify
such a reality, as those who build it. That is, the school space will reproduce the social
constructions and standardize all and all from these. When it comes to sexual orientation,
it will standardize around the constructed as hegemonic, the heteronormative. As a result
of standardization, it causes all subjects who do not fit this norm to suffer discrimination,
violence and / or exclusion. Therefore, the objective of the present study is to analyze the
factors that contribute to the process of exclusion of lesbian women from the school space
and to understand the gender issues located in the school space. In addition, to verify if
the discrimination suffered by these women influenced their level of schooling, as well
as to identify aspects related to the schooling of those women who suffered discrimination
or withdrawal from school. As a methodological path, we use qualitative research. In this
perspective, we conduct semi-structured interviews with lesbian women who still attend
school and others who have already moved away from it, as well as using content analysis
for the structural analysis of the interview. As a result, it was identified, through
interviews, that domestic violence was a determining factor for the process of educational
exclusion of lesbian women.
