Resumo:
This article aims to analyze the production and organization of the space at the Ingá free fair.
Since the beginnings of the municipality of Ingá, the local free market has acted as one of the
main shopping centers in the area, a fact that extends to the present day, providing the busiest
day in the city. Despite the contemporaneity of times, the arrival of new technologies, the
growth of new modalities of commerce and the installation of a pandemic, the fair attests to
its importance, adapting itself according to the required needs. We started this work with a
bibliographical survey, research in the office, followed by field research to obtain images,
interview with stallholders in order to obtain an account of their experiences with the fair.
The result of the research showed us the persistent character of the Ingá fair and how its
existence is important not only in its commercial aspect but also in its cultural, affective and
relational characteristics.
