Resumen:
The main objective of this Course Conclusion Work (TCC) is to analyze the democratic
erosion in Latin America that has occurred in recent years, with a special focus on Brazil and
its immediate geographical effects. This democratic degradation has been detected in some
countries with centuries-old democracies, such as the USA. In recent years other countries
with more recent democracies are going through a process of backsliding, both in relation to
human rights and in their electoral systems and the functioning of the government. We
approach Latin America as a whole, and, as a research candidate, we analyze Brazil, which in
the Bolsonaro Government is proving setbacks in its young democracy. For this, a
bibliographic survey of works on democracy, politics, democratic recession, and Latin
America was carried out, with a view to bringing the best of concepts to this work. After this
analysis, we bring as results the geographical effects (hunger, unemployment, inflation caused
by the democratic erosion of the bolsonaro government.
