Resumo:
In the daily life we constantly use cartographic knowledge in several activities
like in the maritime navegation and in aviation or in a route definition to be
crossed in the city or in the fiel by people in its daily activities therefore, there´s
the necessity of do a cartographic language in the schools since the initial
series to occur, since early the development of the notions of space and
representation by children.However, he geal of this project is to analyze the
cartographic compehen of the students in the school. As result of this, was
developed a research at Escola de Ensino Infantil e Fundamental Professor
José Miranda school located in the city of Queimadas/PB. In this research were
analized three points the description of a map as a cartographic product
exercise of citizenship and the literacy in the early years of elementary school
the used methodology was exploration research qualitative character,
characterized as a case study in wich the data was collected though
questionnaires institution in the classes researched. From de results it was
found the level of and teachers working conditions as wele as the cartographic
sense of students. Like this, it was conclude that the low level of teacher
training, combined with lack of didactic material is interfering directly on training,
combined with lack of didactic material is interfering directly on student learning,
that in tuin they have shown low level of learning about seizure and the notion
representation of space.
