Abstract:
The present work discusses the teaching of Geography and one of its basic
categories, the landscape, through the methodological support of photography.
Considering this concept, we sought to discuss how photography can be used to read
landscapes by students of the 6th grade of elementary school II of the Irmão Damião
school in the municipality of Lagoa Seca-PB. About this idea, how will students respond
to the method of observing photographs to read the landscapes? The work is justified
by the possibilities of adding to the students, knowledge about the reality of the same,
from the landscape content, using photographs. A bibliographic survey was made in
books, electronic websites, magazines, reading the student textbook. We did a field
lesson around the school and discursive classes in the room to address the content,
as well as, we practice fixing exercises. We understand that the methodological
practice of reading elements of landscapes through photographs is positive, because
it brings the real into the classroom, where one can construct critical knowledge from
the landscape.
