Resumo:
The present work is a study on the teaching practice of two teachers who work in the 6th
grade of elementary school II in public schools, at the municipal and state network, located in the city of Bonito de Santa Fé-PB. The objective of the research is to expand reflections on the work done by teachers on reading and writing, with regard to the practice of literacy. In support of research were used Marcuschi's (2001), Kleiman's (2005), Koch & Elias' (2006), Tfouni's (2010), Soares' (2005, 2013), Street 's (2012), Franchi's ( 2012), Canale's (1996) Bortoni-Ricardo's (2004), Gil's (2006), Rojo's (2009) Machado's (2002), Gandin's (2013), Hoffmann's (2012) theories, and PCN (1997, 1998a, 1998b, 1999, 2001) among other researchers. It is a descriptive research of qualitative approach in which we present the analysis from the observations in the classroom and the questionnaire applied to teachers. As a result, we propose a pedagogical intervention, in order to organize study groups with teachers to prepare teaching sequences that provide the necessary conditions for the development of the students' communication skills through the genres. For this, we used the Schneuwly and Dolz's (2004) and Solé's (1998) theories, which introduces new teaching strategies for the development of reading and writing process. The survey reveals the need of using different teaching resources beyond the textbook that enables the development of strategies with specific objectives to be achieved, significantly to the introduction of students in social practices.
