Abstract:
The establishment of institutions such as the Federal Institutes of Science and Technology Education in
medium and small cities demonstrate economic, social and cultural dynamism. In the case of Campina
Grande, in 2006 the city received the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology (IFPB),
which started to promote the Dinamérica neighborhood where it is installed, boosting the economy and
the local infrastructure. Thus, the main objective of this work is to analyze the social and spatial
transformations in the above mentioned neighborhood, in the city of Campina Grande - PB, from the
implantation of the IFPB campus. It is too important to know the relationship of this campus with the
development of the city and especially the neighborhood, as well as its relationship with the urbanization
around the campus. It also seeks to understand what changes have been felt in relation to real estate,
structural and commercial valuation in the Dinamérica neighborhood. It is noticeable that the area around
the campus changed received a partial infrastructure compared to the time before the implementation of
the IFPB. Thus, it is noticeable that transformations occurred in the neighborhood in question.
