Resumo:
This research addresses the issue of urban risks and vulnerabilities in the Riacho de Bodocongó in the city of Campina Grande-PB. Attention is turned to these areas, as they are, due to episodes of torrential rain, potential vulnerable conditions for the residents of those localities, when under these conditions they are subject to flooding and flooding. It took into account the anthropic action acting on the environment, which can minimize or enhance these impacts. The objective of this research is to promote the discussion regarding risks and vulnerabilities, focusing on the agents responsible for the floods that occur in Fortaleza street, Vila dos Teimosos, Catingueira and along the Bodocongó stream, in certain months of the year when the rainfall is higher. The methodology was based on bibliographical research, cartographic documentation, as well as photographic records, adding to the observation in loco. At the end of this stage of the research, the revitalization not only of the Bodocongó dam, but also of the stream, the removal of residents from the flood strip, removal of at-risk houses, paving with the creation of a drainage and sewage network is considered.
