Ser mulher, trabalhadora e assentada: trabalho feminino e a produção do território no Assentamento Mandacaru Sumé / PB.

Abstract

Throughout history, territory has been appropriated, produced and reproduced by working men and women, both in the countryside and in the city. In this article, we will privilege the working woman settled as subject of this construction, reconstruction and maintenance of the territory of the Mandacaru Settlement, located in the municipality of Sumé, Cariri Paraibano. Understanding the relevance of the maintenance of the territory conquered in the struggle for a piece of land, we intend, with this research, to reflect on the importance of the visibility of women for the construction and continuity of said settlement. We have chosen women as their starting point, since, historically, they have been denied public space and productive activities. The research is an exploratory type with a qualitative approach and used the technique of semistructured interview and was divided into three parts that included from the visits of recognition and approximation to the subjects, data collection and data analysis. Thus, the article has as a central question, to understand what socio-political dynamics are promoted by the action of female labor in the production of the territory of the cited. For this, it is fundamental to think about the social functions that these women have in the Mandacaru settlement, with regard to work and political action, how they organize themselves, what difficulties and what challenges they face in everyday life for the preservation of the territory as the women of the Mandacaru settlement face the sexual submission of the labor, politics and economic organization of said settlement and whether this reflects for reproduction of that territory and its territoriality.
