Resumo:
Number, according to current understanding, is an abstract entity, human product, employed in processes of count and enumeration. In school, people learn natural and whole numbers, including others. Natural numbers are bound up with notion of successor, where as whole numbers are bound up with notions of measure and direction. This work searched to demonstrate an axiomatic and indutive construction for whole numbers, just like we build natural numbers using Peano’s axioms. Pedagogical instructions and researches about idea of number instigate new approaches in school. Hence, we seek to contribute with innovative classes about numerical sets, since very students face difficulties with negative whole numbers.
