A relação orientador-orientando em um mestrado profissional de formação docente: uma investigação à luz das ideias do Círculo de Bakhtin.

Abstract

The general objective of this research is to investigate the relationship in the academic orientation, from the verbal interaction between Advisor and student, about the orientation of the master's dissertation (or other final product), in the context of a professional master's degree (PROFLetras) of a Brazilian public university (UFCG). The question that gave origin to this investigation is: How does the process of verbal orientation happen, in the academic relationship between Supervisor and student, in the PROFLetras/UFCGCFP? The theory used in this investigation is the Dialogical Discourse Analysis (DDA) of Bakhtin's Circle, because it is understood that the relations are social, dialogical and homogeneous and that, for its comprehension, the discourse is the first factor to be considered. This research, which is a case study, used the qualitativequantitative method for data analysis and reporting, being of an applied nature in the context of the academic sphere. The data collection in the public and federal university context occurred in the period from October 2019 to February 2020, resulting in a sample of 41 participating subjects, being 13 Advisors and 28 mentees. Data were collected through the application of an electronic questionnaire, made available by email, and two questionnaires were sent: one to the Advisors, with 12 questions, and one to the students with a total of 15 questions. Data triangulation was necessary, in which the data generated in the teachers' form and the data generated in the students' form were compared so that the teachers' evaluative position and the students' evaluative position could be perceived in the enunciative event academic orientation. The data point out that, in this enunciative event, the social subjects involved look first to the processoriented issues, from internal and external acts (especially the students) and also considering the theoretical and methodological issues (especially the Advisors) as fundamental in the investigated phenomenon. This relationship is not only formed by the voices of these subjects, but also by other voices such as the sociohistorical context and the ideologicaldiscursive practice, the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Level Personnel (CAPES) and the coordination of the PPG. Moreover, there is, as the data show, a need to rethink some technical issues regarding the organization and selection for admission to the referred MP (PROFLetras) and, for which, (re)significant actions are suggested. It concludes, therefore, that the academic relationship is based on two enunciatory scenes: the network of voices and the axiological positioning existing in the relationship between Advisor and student.
