Abstract:
All over Brazil, the LGBTQIA + category responds with prejudice, and widespread
discrimination in all fields of society. This prejudice and discrimination considerably reduces
access to services and rights offered and guaranteed by the State. Of intolerance and especially
against the LGBTQIA + category, which for decades are made invisible by a binary and
heteronormative cis culture, but, this is not what happens, the same prejudice and discrimination
existing in the social field is reproduced and reaffirmed within the schools of our country . This
work has as one of its objectives the analysis of the components that this structural
discrimination, reproduced by educational institutions, cause no subject schooling, especially
those who attend public schools in the Western Cariri of Paraíba. How these subjects live with
homophobia, and other forms of violation of rights and violence found in schools. It was also
necessary to understand which instruments and projects these institutions use to protect these
subjects, and to offer quality education, effectively ensuring their pressure within the school
and their permanence in the entire educational process. It was also observed how teachers and
other members of the school staff live with issues of sexuality and gender.
