Resumo:
The agriculture in Brazil represent an important rôle in the country's economy, especially Family Agriculture, in which many families survive thanks to work in the countryside. In this scenario we highlight the family farmer of the North-east semi-arid region, which with the support of public policies as the National School Feeding Program (PNAE) produces, despite many obstacles, mainly those generated by water scarcity. So, this study aims to analyze the effect of water quality and the preparation practices used in the production of the feed offered by PNAE to the municipal schools of the city of São Bentinho, located in the semi-arid region of Paraiba, at different levels of production. It is a research cross-sectional and descriptive, in which it is observed through of the results obtained, dots contamination of the water used and of all feed handled in the school environment with presence of Escherichia coli and Salmonella. However, the use of Good Feed Preparation Practices by the manipulators, either by the rural producer or by the cooks, reduces and even eliminates any contamination.
