Resumo:
Bovine mastitis is a multifactorial disease that causes inflammation of the mammary gland of mammals, among them the cow. Mastitis is an inflammation of worldwide concern, especially in the agribusiness area, since this disease causes innumerable losses to the producer (decrease in volume of milk synthesized, expense of medication, decrease in physical-chemical and microbiological quality of milk, among others). for the industry (lower yield for cheese production and longer time for the fermentation of fermented dairy products) and for the consumer (public health risk due to food poisoning and infection, antimicrobial residues in milk that can generate microbial resistance factors and allergen problems). Among the different agents causing bovine mastitis, the microorganisms demonstrate a great direct relation with this disease. Thus, this review aims to describe the main microorganisms reported in the literature that directly influence the incidence of bovine mastitis.
