Resumo:
In this work we study the National Policy of Schoolteachers Training,
more specifically the Continuing Professional Development Program entitled
Parameters in Action, analysing the case of Serra Branca City, in Paraíba State.
In this case study we focus the reception of the policy mentioned by local
schoolteachers and school administrators. The theoretical perspective we use
was the contribution of Pierre Bourdieu. Our methodology consisted of direct
observation and informal dialogues with a sample of subjects involved in the
local education system. We carried out thirty structured interviews and we took
up life stories of twelve schoolteachers. The research work we carried out
confirmed our hypothesis according to which the policy studied has an
authoritarian nature, evidenced by its imposed strategies, by its homogenising
contents and by its centralising model of decision making, despite its explicit
discourse of democratic intervention.
