Resumen:
The SIRRAD computer program was developed to assist the farmer to determine
the needs for acquiring inputs (irrigation equipment and soil-corrective chemical
properties). Thus, three components were outlined: SIMPLIFIED VERSION, TRACK
VERSION and FERTILIZERS AND LIME, which can be intertwined. The first
component is focused on the middle region of “alto sertão” of the state of Paraíba and
includes the design of irrigation projects for the amount of chemicals necessary for the
correction of the area occupied for fifteen cultures of potential exploration in the region.
The scaling is performed for eighteen fixed layouts (suggested) and two types of trickle
irrigation (drip and microsprinkler), only requiring topographic datasets and the
producer’s time availability to work in irrigation management. The second component
is of global use (for the method of trickle irrigation) and is directed especially to
professionals. The last component favors the acquisition of liming and fertilization for
fifteen cultures following the method recommended by the Empresa Pernambucana de
Pesquisa Agropecuária (IPA) [Agricultural Research Company of the State of
Pernambuco].
