Resumo:
First of all, a revision of the existent normalization ís made, followed by a study of six samples of industrialized sodium smectite clays for fluids in etroleum drilling objecting its use a mud for building diaphragm walls. The dispersions were studied in the concentration rate of 2% to 10% w/w at 2% w/w intervals. The Fann 35-A viscometer and Marsh viscometer were used. The last is normally used in field control and the Baroid filter press to determine the thickness of the cake and the filtrate loss. Other secundary data are also furnished. After the results of analysis, we noticed that all studied samples are satisfatory to be used building diaphragm walls.
