Abstract:
The Brazilian Federal Law No. 12.587/2012, which establishes the guidelines of the National Policy on Urban Mobility, which has the purpose of giving priority to nonmotorized modes of transportation and to the collective public service, as well as the integration of urban transportation modes and services, has made urban mobility one of the most discussed topics today. For this reason, Campina Grande PB has undergone several changes related to this context, either through the improvement of collective public transport or even through the implementation of cycle paths in several localities of the municipality. The present research had as general objective to present a proposal of interconnection of cycle paths in the neighborhoods of Cruzeiro and Santa Cruz, and in a specific way: to obtain the socioeconomic profile of the users of the cycle paths; analyze its characteristics, as well as the space available for interconnection, and finally, analyze the set of cycle paths formed by the existing o nes and the one presented as interconnection proposal. For the production of this research, questionnaires were applied to the users of the study cycles paths, where 74 interviewees were obtained. Questionnaires were also applied online, where 195 questionnaires were answered. Although the profiles of the two surveys were divergent, interviewed were dissatisfied with the lack of respect on the part of drivers and passersby as well as the lack of adequate signage and infrastructure at some points in the cycle paths. Through online tools, field research and photographic records, it was possible to verify that there is enough space available for the
implantation of new cycle paths, so that approximately 9.030 meters of interconnected cycle paths are obtained, which seek to promote urban mobility and improving the quality of life of the population.
