Résumé:
The Brazilian civil construction has undergone several scandals involving frauds in
budgets of public constructions. The objective of this work is to approach a platform that has
been gaining more and more space in the market, the Building Information Modeling (BIM),
which makes it possible to elaborate projects and generate analyzes of them. BIM brings with
it a range of features that enable its users to work in a integrate way, optimizing the various
stages of a project. Through BIM softwares, it is possible to develop projects in a virtual
environment. The generated models have associated characteristics, which make them almost
faithful representations of the elements that will be executed. By means of the data of the digital
model, it is possible to collect quantitatives of materials used and the services related to their
execution, being possible to associate to them to their costs. Therefore, the present work,
through a case study, developed the design of a building through BIM softwares, analyzing it
with regard to quantification and budgeting. The results demonstrate that through the modeling
it was possible to obtain accurate data regarding the materials to be used and their costs, thus
demonstrating that the tool's application in the development of public works can provide greater
transparency in its expenses, making it more difficult of frauds.
