Abstract:
Since 1995, Brazil has not suffered a new model of concessions as it is currently suffering. In the course of this movement, the concession of airports for private entities began, one of them is Pinto Martins International Airport - Fortaleza, seeking to fill the sector's shortcomings. The present work analyzes, therefore, the new administration of the airport with the entrance of Fraport AG in the place of INFRAERO, that historically dominated the sector. Airports can no longer be described as examples of natural monopolies, but as actors also subject to competition rules. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to understand the benefits brought about by the concession of the airport in question, comparing its operational data divided between the period in which the Government administered the system and the current period.
