Abstract:
The great economic growth of the country in the last decades has impelled many advances in diverse sectors, be they technological, social, political and environmental. With this, the movement of people and products became much more intense and to accompany this growth was necessary to develop also the means of transportation responsible for this service. Among them, the road network is the most important means of movement of people and objects, and by this factor, the number of problems and pathologies that arise in this type of system is considerable and recurrent. In order to minimize this frequent problem in road paving, several university institutions and companies are focusing on asphalt binder modifying agents to improve their properties and consequently their useful life, this means in a reduction of public expenses with repairs and renovations structures. In this mode, this research aimed to analyze the physical behavior of the modified line addition CAP 50/70 asphalt binder before and after a short duration period - RTFO. Penetration, softening point and rotational viscosity tests were performed. The incorporation of line into the asphalt binder in the studies under study has been found to offer benefits such as reduced permanent formation, increased fatigue life and greater resistance to premature aging.
