Nowadays, urban mobility is a fundamental issue in cities planning, because impacts caused by the development of cities associated with lack of planning have affected basic and indispensable rights to the population; to have access to all regions of the city, enjoying the minimum conditions of safety, efficiency, comfort, affordable cost and being sustainable. Within this context, the National Policy on Urban Mobility, through Federal Law 12,587/ 2012, promotes according to its guidelines, a concept of efficient and sustainable transport, prioritizing active transport and the public, under individual and motorized transportation. Thus, the use of the bicycle appears as an alternative of sustainable transport, because it does not occupy as much space as a car, it is a physical activity, it does not generate pollution and it is of affordable cost. Campina Grande - PB in the last decades has presented a growth in the number of automobiles of 146.93% (DENATRAN, 2016). The Av. Marechal Floriano Peixoto starts in the center of the city and has as end of its route the BR 230 very close to the growth zones of this one. Therefore, this work aims to analyze the viability of building a cycle path in this avenue, verifying the acceptance and perception of users, the profile of bicycle users, as well as, the opinion about the shared. In the study 157 questionnaires were applied, 47% in loco and 53% online. Where a suitable topography for a cycling route has been verified, many cyclists transiting daily because of work, associated with a high accident history and with many dissatisfactions regarding the position of the drivers, as well as the need to connect cyclist’s path and popular neighborhoods with the downtown area.
