Résumé:
Throughout their useful life, it is common for structures to wear out, which can cause
cracking that varies its dynamic properties. Knowing that the frequencies and vibration
modes of a structure are modified as a function of stiffness and, since prestressing is a factor
that influences such properties, this work proposes a quantitative evaluation of changes in the
natural frequencies of a beam, after being cracked and inserting active armor. Therefore, in
this work used SAP2000 software to identify the dynamic properties of the structure. There
was a large decrease in the beam’s natural frequencies ande protection effectiveness in the
restoration of structures.
