Abstract:
Civil construction is the sector with the greatest potential for the use of various types of industrial waste. The intention is to explore the various possibilities that already exist, thus realizing an interaction and / or integration between segments and productive chains, in the sense of utilization and reuse of these
materials. In Paraíba, as in several other states of the Federation, tire rubber disposal has been carried out in a disorderly manner, causing environmental damage that needs to be mitigated or eliminated, either by rationalizing production and storage methods or by presenting solutions , or of the use as
alternative raw material for civil construction. This work aims to determine the physical and mechanical properties of simple concrete incorporated with rubber tire residues. The chemical and physical characterization of the residues and the physical characterization of the conventional aggregates and the cement were carried out sequentially. The dosage and molding of the specimens in the dimensions of 10 cm x 20 cm with partial replacement of the kid's aggregate were performed. 10% and 25% rubber tire residue. Finally, the physical and mechanical characterization of the concrete incorporated with the tire rubber residue at the healing ages of 7.14, 21 days will be performed. It was observed that the incorporation of rubber tire residue caused the reduction of the concrete's compressive strength in the percentages of 80% and 89.6%, respectively, to the percentages of 10% and 25% of substitution. Therefore, the use of rubber tire waste provides modifications in the concrete properties, however this study indicates that it is possible to obtain results that satisfy the normative parameters.
