Resumo:
The management and drainage of rainwater in Brazil presents serious problems compared to the current scenario due to lacks of management and inspection of drainage systems. The urbanization process, associated with the disorderly growth of cities, affects directly the qualitative and quantitative parameters of the runoff promoted by rainy events. The Prado channel, a macro-drainage device present in the city of Campina Grande - PB, is a local example of the gaps in the management of urban drainage waters in the municipality, since it receives effluent inputs and the most varied contributions from the use and land occupation of the areas of the Riacho do Prado sub-basins. The present study sought to do the mathematical modeling of the aforementioned channel through the use of the Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) program, which allowed to simulate and monitor the behavior of the chemical parameters BOD, COD and Total Phosphorus for an event that occurred on 08/06/2018 and for the project rain with a 10-year payback time. For this, the simulation of two scenarios was carried out with the use of permeable pavements, a low impact development device - LID. In this context, th effectiveness of the LID on the study area was verified, since, through the treatment of 50% of the waterproofed areas of the sub-basins, in simulated events with low intensity precipitation, the load of pollutants decreased, if compared with that of the natural surface washing process. In addition, runoff flows decreased by 39%. The results of the simulations showed that the application of low impact solutions promotes the improvement ofconventional urban drainage systems.
