Resumen:
The road transport system is the main logistical means in Brazil, being responsible for a large
part of the transport of all cargo in the territory and locomotion of people. However, despite
the country's high degree of dependence on highways, it is notable that a large part of the
Brazilian road network presents several types of pathological manifestations, which are due
to the unforeseen increase in road loads, lack of preventive maintenance and mandatory
materials. Low resistance and durability. Thus, as modifications of asphaltic binders have as
main objective, to find additives that mixed with asphalt binders, can increase the resistance
of the pavements to deformations caused by mechanical efforts or by thermal variations, also
bringing, as a consequence, improvements in the conditions of safety and comfort. For
highway users and reduced maintenance costs in short periods of time. In general, this
research aims to make a comparison of the rheological properties of asphalt binders modified
by the addition of lignin. Special tests were carried out, such as rotational viscosity test and
the creep and recovery tests under multiple stresses, which aim to determine the parameters
of percentage of recovery and non-recoverable compliance of the asphalt, all before and after
short-term aging (RTFO ) It was observed that the ligands modified by the addition of lignin
are more resistant to heat dissipation, temperature variation, but mainly to aging, proving
that the use of lignin, in general, proved to be viable rheologically, if compared to the ligand
conventional. In addition, it may also come to the conclusion that levels of lignin are the
most suitable for improving the rates of deformable recovery of asphalt.
