Résumé:
The search for varied architectural concepts with changes in the construction system, tall buildings, large areas without subdivisions, the use of a wide variety of combustible materials for coating, finishing, partitions and for decorative purposes can increase the risk of fire and cause damage to life, to the environment and economy. In Brazil, this scenario is recorded by the increase in population density and the lack of urban planning in cities. Therefore, it is necessary to think about the elaboration of public spaces with the potential to gather people - as an educational institution - so that the public present is able to evacuate the area in the event of an accident, which must be done through escape routes. From this context, the present work aimed to evaluate the emergency exits of blocks of the three sectors of the main campus of the Federal University of Campina Grande according to criteria established in Technical Standard 012/2015 of the Paraíba Military Fire Brigade. To this end, a block of each sector was chosen based on pre-established criteria, architectural projects were obtained to verify the exits, as well as on-site visits to detect possible differences between the projects and the real situation of the buildings. With the verification carried out, it was possible to observe nonconformities in the widths of some stairs, doors and corridors, in addition to distances traveled greater than the maximum distances recommended by the standard. Given the lack of regulatory compliance with the minimum parameters required.
