Abstract:
The study of grammatical categories and the relationships between words has always
constituted a large part of Portuguese language classes in Brazilian schools. On the
one hand, morphology as the part of the grammar that studies the word. On the other,
the syntax as the analysis of the combinations of words in the organization of
sentences, as well as in the observation and classification of the functions exercised
by them. Two fields that complement each other, but that generate a lot of difficulty for
the teacher to teach them and for the student to understand them. For this reason, it is
necessary to unite these two fields in order to contribute to the understanding of the
other, forming what is known as morphosyntax. Knowing these difficulties in working
with morphology and syntax, this work came with the intention of offering a support
that can help teacher and student in dealing with these subjects. The purpose of this
dissertation is to contribute to the Portuguese language classes in the study of the
morphosyntax of the simple period in the eighth year of elementary school. In order to
create such a work, works by well-known authors such as AZEREDO (2000),
CAMARA JR (2007), FERRAREZI JR (2012), FRANCHI (2006), TRAVAGLIA and
others have been approached in order to create a theoretical framework as an
epistemological basis . In order to help in the teaching of morphosyntax, a support
manual was created that seeks to offer concepts related to morphosyntax and
exercises that contribute to the construction of this knowledge by the student. For the
composition of this manual, prioritized texts that are part of the student's reality, such
as: comic strips, jokes, poems, celebrity news, aiming to make work with grammar
elements a meaningful study.
