Abstract

The purpose of this work is developing an architectural project for the UFCG Student Housing. The target audience is made of the ones in economic vulnerability, once it is considered the inefficiency of the university to provide this type of service to the students. Thus, the project has steps that involve the theoretical and conceptual basis of the subject; the study of related projects with the same building use; the data collection about the demands of students using surveys; and the development of preliminary studies. At the end, it is expected to achieve an architectural solution that answer to the demand for the student housing by the institution, having complementary areas of access to the academic community, and accomplishing its social function of providing for the city one more public space. This work also intends to encourage the institution to start thinking about new ways of designing this type of architecture, which is not only made of buildings, but made of built spaces that promote vitality.
