Resumo:
The Institutional Care Service for Children is an interim and
exceptional measure, created by the Child and Adolescent Statute
(1990) with the function of serving as a temporary home, designed
as a protection space for children and adolescents in situations of
social vulnerability or whose families do not have financial and/or
psychological conditions of raising their children. The present work
has as the main objective, the development of an architectural
proposal for an Institutional Care Service, for both children and
adolescents from zero to eighteen years old, of both sexes, in the
city of São Gonçalo do Amarante / RN. The project seeks to create
a reflexive vision on how architecture can contribute to the physical,
psychological and social development of the sheltered kids through
the creation of a physical space that offers shelter, hosting areas,
security, protection and, mainly, the essence of a home.
