Resumo:
This paper focuses on the use of parametric simulation tools in
the initial phases of design as a support for the architect in his
design decisions. The main objective of this paper is to develop
a parametric simulation method to aid the design process of
office buildings, aiming to exploit the constructive potential of the
building site, and achieve energy efficiency through reduction of
the solar radiation gain and increase of daylight use. Thus, the
concepts related to the theme and the operation of the tools used
in this research were initially explored. Using parametric modeling
and simulation software, energy performance simulation and
optimization algorithms were developed. The use of these was
exemplified from its application in three different scenarios in the
city of Campina Grande. In these, the developed algorithms were
used to create mass studies of vertical office buildings. From the
applications made, it was possible to prove the effectiveness of
the method developed in minimizing the energy consumption of
buildings.
