O que não cabe na caixinha?: anteprojeto de CAPSI para Campina Grande.

Abstract

The Centro de Atenção Psicossocial Infantojuvenil (CAPSi) is aimed at the care of children and adolescents in psychological distress. The institution was formally established in 2002 through a slow process that had support in the antimanicomial fight and by the decline of the asylum model. There are few researches and models of the production of these spaces in architecture. It is believed that what is found today is not suitable to receive the activities of the service. For this reason, we ask ourselves about the attention given to the buildings dedicated to mental health equipment and the fact that many still see these spaces with prejudice. We can not dissociate these places from their history and the confinement that some of their users once experienced. Therefore, the importance of the life in society that is desired for CAPS users in general is emphasized. The main objective of this paper is to develop a proposal for a new CAPSi unit in Campina Grande, considering the following question: How to think spaces for mental health activities considering in the subjectivity of space and the well-being of the user?
