Resumo:
This paper’s study object is the gymnasium of the CAIC José Joffily | Centro de Atenção Integral à Criança e ao Adolescente (Comprehensive Care Center for Children and Teenagers), which is an example of the educational program “MINHA GENTE” (“My People”), created to promote the well-being and a better quality of life for children and teenagers. The architect João da Gama Filgueiras Lima | Lelé developed the prototype of the CIACs | Centros Integrados de Apoio à Criança (Comprehensive Centers for Child Support) which were replicated across the country and later named CAICs. The object in question is located in the city of Campina Grande (state of Paraíba), more specifically in the Malvinas neighborhood. Considering the CAICs’ social and economic importance, this paper’s objective includes the proposal of conducts for the architectural complex’s gymnasium. It is also intended that the proposed guidelines give maximum value to the project’s attributes, without mischaracterizing it. This paper’s presentation is justified by its originality, as a final graduation project about the CAICs which focuses on patrimonial intervention, the contribution that this will bring to the academic and professional environment, and because the CAIC José Jofilly is at a high risk of being demolished. The adopted methodology is divided into three steps, the first being the Architectural Historical Research proposed by AFONSO (2020), which investigates the architectural object and its relationship regarding the different conditions that originated it, according to the seven dimensions of architecture. The second methodological step is the Pathology Analysis from TINOCO (2009) and LICHENSTEIN (1986), which proposes to observe the property’s conservation state and its documentation. The third step, proposed by RIBEIRO (2016), covers the intervention in the built heritage. For this paper’s theoretical basis, at an international level, the Patrimonial Letters, along with CARBONARA (2006) and BRANDI (2004) were used. And authors like FERRAZ E
