Résumé:
Falls, traffic accidents and mistreatment are some of the main etiological factors present in
dentoalveolar trauma. For being a pre-hospital service, the Mobile Emergency Care Service
(SAMU) is the one who often performs the first care in urgent and emergency situations. The
objective of this research is to know the conduct of on duty professionals of Urgency Mobile
Services in the Sousa and Cajazeiras cities, State of Paraíba. The research is transversal,
descriptive and quantitative, adopting as strategies of data collect, application of a questionnaire
about the conduct of professionals from SAMU. The sample was composed by 51 professionals,
been them: doctors, nurses and nursing technicians. About the avulsion, the most of volunteers
(41%) signed that would keep the dental element in a paper before forward to dentist. In
intrusion and extrusion, 86% and 78%, respectively, would pass to the dentist the responsibility
for conducting the case. About situations that involve coronal fracture, 63% keep the fragment
if they find. The professional’s behavior in relation of dentoalveolar trauma was considered
satisfactory and the most of volunteers would adopt appropriate procedures for the listed
situations in study.
